Once again, Moraine House will be collaboration with Alice's House and Respite Housein the 2011 annual Walk for Recovery.
The common goal of all three participating non-profit Agencies is to address a disease rampant in our country and our nation. Addiction affects each and every one of our lives; it impacts our families, our schools, and our work environments.
In fact, Moraine House has helped thausands of men for more than thirty-three years discover a new way of life - without alcohol and drugs - to become productive members of our community and caring sons and fathers.
We are not Goverment funded and most of our clients are indigent and depend on our compassion and support.
Alcohol and drugs is a very big problem in our communities today. Lives and families are being destroyed as a direct result of the abuse. People who have this deadly disease are constantly living in fear, remorse and overwhelming shame. These individuals are constantly seeking a solution to free themself from their addiction. For many years the Moraine House and Alice's (for women) are committed to help those individuals. We are trying to lead them on the path of recovery by giving them hope, encouragement and a new outlook on life. Walk for Recovery will hopefully bring a better understanding of this Malady, a social awareness of this crisis and a more combined effort for a better society of tomorrow.
